Originally founded in 1834, Tulane University has consistently been recognized as one of the top business research universities in the United States. The Freedman School of Business within Tulane University was first opened in 1914. Today it attracts students from all areas of the United States and worldwide. The school is accredited through the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Freedman School of Business is also an accredited member of the International Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Tulane University — with campuses located in New Orleans, Louisiana and other satellite campuses across the United States — is considered to be one of the premier private research facilities in the United States. Professors at Tulane are experienced both from an academic perspective as well as from a work and research perspective. Online classes are taught by the same experienced and degreed instructors that teach the in-person campus-based classes. Therefore, online students can expect a consistently high level of education with the convenience of learning at home.
Students completing online degrees from Tulane are in contact with staff and other classmates via e-mails, interactive chat rooms, and message boards. The online classes are kept small to allow time for professors and students to interact to ensure sufficient learning and communication. Coursework is designed to be practical and applicable as well as covering all relevant theory and current policies and practices in the given field. Students are encouraged to participate in group discussions via the Internet, and are provided access to streaming video, audio presentations, and CD-ROMs to assist with learning course content and material. Students may be eligible for financial aid through the University for online courses if they meet state and/or federal funding requirements.
