Founded in 1992, The College Network has built a culture based on six core values: quality, learning, innovation, excellence, integrity, and service. TCN is technically not a school, but a privately owned educational company that collaborates with 11 accredited universities to create exclusively web-based degree and certificate programs. Students who enroll in The College Network’s online course programs often go on to earn associate, bachelor’s, and/or master’s degrees, as well as a variety of professional certificates.
The College Network partners with the following degree-granting institutions:
1. Angelo State University
2. Bellevue University
3. Boston University Center for Professional Education
4. Corporate Education Group
5. Indiana State University
6. Lake Superior State University
7. National League for Nursing
8. Purdue University
9. Regis University
10. Splash Media University
11. Tulane University
The College Network’s online programs include business degree options such as legal studies, software development, business analysis and management, and management of human resources. Students of healthcare can obtain bachelor’s degrees in healthcare management, healthcare administration, and health information management. Certificate programs include project management, paralegal, social media, and Lean Six Sigma.
In addition to degree and certificate programs, The College Network partners with the National League for Nursing (NLN) to help nurses earn PN and RN licenses. The network also offers accredited continuing nursing education with courses that cover ethics in nursing, medication safety, and patient rights. TCN is accredited by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s COA, and each course counts as 2.5 contact hours that may be put toward state nursing requirements.
When students enroll with the network, they first meet with an advisor to determine if previously earned college credits can be applied to their degree program of choice. Next, they take general education and elective courses through the network’s proprietary online learning platform. Once their general education requirements have been met, students enroll with officials at one of the network’s universities in order to complete requirements specific to their certificate or degree. Students earn credits from the network school while completing their course work through The College Network’s system. The courses are self-paced, so students can access course materials and take exams at their own convenience.
The College Network’s professional academic support staff provides assistance by phone, email, and online instant messaging. Through the EARN program, students receive $100 for every person they refer who enrolls in a College Network course. After six successful referrals, The College Network pays the outstanding balance on their portion of the student’s degree program loan (if applicable).
Statistics show that distance learning is increasing by leaps and bounds on an annual basis. For this reason, The College Network is one of today’s most innovative academic options — an educational cooperative that supplements the convenience of web-based courses with professional advisors and educational resources to help students reach their career goals.
