South University was founded as the Draughon’s Practical Business College in Savannah, Ga., in 1899. Since that time, South University has expanded, placing campuses in Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. It’s also opened an online campus that allows busy students to conveniently earn the degree they want online.
South University confers degrees in nursing and health, business and I.T., legal and criminal justice, and the creative arts. Most recently, it began offering criminal justice graduate degrees.
In 2004, South University launched its first ever online degree programs in information technology, business administration, and health care administration at the bachelor’s level. Today, South University Online offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s programs through its College of Nursing and Public Health, College of Business, College of Health Professions, and College of Arts and Sciences. Though each degree level differs, the university allows students to earn their degree in business, criminal justice, health care, information technology, legal and paralegal, nursing, and psychology disciplines.
South University helps students from the prospective stage all the way to the post-graduation stage. For instance, prospective students can get a feel for how online courses work through the multimedia presentations it created on its Online University Experience page.
While attending South University Online, students can easily access all of the tools they need with the university’s provided online services. Some of these services include an online library, a counseling center, career services, and even a three-person graduation team. Additionally, students can easily meet, communicate, and network with their peers through Univerity social media outlets like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, as well as stay current with university news through its Community Blog.
