Mountain State University doesn't serve just its local population in Beckley, W.V.; students attend its campuses in other states as well as online. In either format, this nonprofit university maintains core values of integrity, vision, uniqueness, accessibility, responsiveness, collaboration and knowledge.

If you enroll in an online class, you have the ability to work independently from your home computer as well as to interact with your professor and classmates. This can prevent you from feeling isolated and foster a team spirit in the education process. Mountain State University offers programs in arts, business, health science and technology. MSU accepts international, independent study, undergraduate and graduate students.

The university, which was founded in 1933, has campuses in Martinsburg, W.V.; Hickory and Mooresville, N.C.; Monaca, Pa; and Altamonte Springs, Fla., as well as its Beckley main location. Its student to teacher ratio is about 23:1. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
