All online courses are taught by Indiana State University faculty that also teach traditional classroom courses. Enrolling in an online program will give students the freedom to continue working, raising families, or have the option of taking classes over the summer. Online and traditional classes may be mixed if a student wants to participate in both types of learning.
Online classes require that students maintain a 2.75 GPA and in some cases must have permission from department heads before enrolling. Once a student has decided to enroll in a program, they will be assisted by admissions counselors, academic counselors, and technical support staff. Books and other materials may be purchased at the campus bookstore or online. Students will be given a list of what they will need when they enroll in classes. Online classes use a message board where students will be able to find the week's assignments and will be able to complete them in the time allotted.
Indiana State University approaches online learning the same way that it approaches traditional class work. Students are expected to turn in assignments on time, participate in online discussions, and ask questions at any time. Learning online will allow students to have more time to study when they are able, but they must keep up with readings, assignments, and other projects that may be assigned. Students who apply for the Master's program will have to complete a thesis and will be given the guidance and support to complete this project. A degree from Indiana State University will help students continue their career or find a new one. Employers will be eager to give people who have advanced degrees jobs in many fields.
