All online courses through Indiana State University are taught by the same faculty members who teach its traditional campus classes. Enrolling in an online program will give students the freedom to continue working, raising families and taking classes over the summer. Online and traditional classes may be mixed if a student wants to participate in both types of learning.

Online classes require that students maintain a 2.75 GPA, and in some cases permission must be granted from department heads before enrolling. Once students decide to enroll in a program, they will be assisted by admissions and academic counselors as well as technical support staffers. Books and other materials may be purchased at the campus bookstore or online. Students will be given a list of what they will need when they enroll in classes. Online classes use a message board to post the week's assignments.

Indiana State University approaches online learning the same way that it handles traditional class work. Students are expected to turn in assignments on time, participate in online discussions and ask questions. Learning online will allow students to have more time to study when they are able, but they must keep up with readings, assignments and projects. Students who apply for the master's program will have to complete a thesis but will be given guidance and support to complete it. Indiana State University degrees will help students advance their careers or find new ones.
