Herzing University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. The school's U.S. campuses include Atlanta; Birmingham, Ala.; Madison, Wis.; Minneapolis; New Orleans; and Orlando, Fla. It also has Canadian campuses in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Winnipeg. Students who don't live in any of these cities can take advantage of distance education from Herzing University and earn their degree online.

Students can earn bachelor's or associate degrees through online learning. Herzing has many schools within its online learning program including ones focused on technology, business, health care and public safety. Each course has been carefully written to adapt to the online learner and has different admission requirements. Students can apply online.

Herzing University also offers an EdFlex program that gives students the flexibility of taking some of their classes on campus and others online.

The university was founded in 1965 as a computer training institute. In 1970, the name was changed to Herzing Institute and the school began to grow rapidly. It has now become a leading institution in modern technology education and was one of the first postsecondary schools to train students in technology.
