Abilene Christian University was founded in 1906 in Abilene, Texas. In its first year, it had 25 students enrolled. Today, more than 4,500 students are enrolled at ACU. The university’s mission is to educate and prepare Christian students to work, live and serve the global community. Abilene is also famous for its eagerness to embrace new technologies. In 2008, incoming freshmen were furnished with iPhones and iPod Touches as part of the university’s mobile learning initiative.

Students say that the friendships born in these close quarters help them to support one another in the more rigorous third and fourth years of study at the college. Read More

Abilene Christian University’s online students cannot enroll in more than one course at any given time. This allows students to immerse themselves fully in the course materials. The duration of each course is seven weeks and as long as assignment deadlines are met, students can login for course lectures and labs whenever they choose. Abilene Christian University’s online courses are designed for working and otherwise occupied students. They can usually be completed in as little as two years.
