The MA in forensic psychology is the only degree program of its kind offered in the Midwest. Consisting of 60 semester hours and the choice between practicum experience or a master's thesis, graduates of this program will be prepared for a career related to the United States legal system. The curriculum focuses on both theoretical and practical instruction.

Forensic psychology is a growing field and one that has been made popular by true-crime television programs and books. Distance students who participate in this program will be able to complete the degree in two years if attending full-time, while part-time students can finish the MA in as soon as three years. Successful graduates will be prepared to complete the Illinois LPC and LCPC licensure exams.

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, established in 1979, is the country's largest graduate school devoted solely to a higher education in psychology. Fully accredited, this nonprofit graduate school is a member of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology. Degree programs are offered on both a master's and doctorate level.
