A corrections program is one that will lead to several different career options for you. After you have completed this course of study you can become a correction officer, a prison warden or a correction management professional. The most common location for you to be found will be in correctional facilities, keeping the criminals out of the public. There are other positions as well. Some will provide supervisor positions and managerial positions. Administration aspects of corrections are also available. Some individuals will stay in the private sector working in security positions privately.
Those that enter into the field of corrections will learn a wide range of things from proper handling, communication, counseling, and introduction to corrections are common courses. Probation, some legal aspects, facility upkeep, parole, handling violent crime, juvenile crime and maintaining peace are all aspects that the correction student will learn.
