The objective of this MPH program is to prepare students for tomorrow's public healthcare leadership. Students of this program will develop abilities to provide leadership and unique community-based public health programs that solve problems and provide new information, skills, training, resources, and new technologies.
This program is practice oriented. Students will work with the community health system to provide for their assets and needs. The student will determine what those needs are and then evaluate and promote public health that is better and meets those needs. A specialization in community health is available to interested students.
Consistent with our commitment to continuous quality improvement, Walden University has recently revised the curriculum for the Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) program to be in alignment with Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) standards. While we are not currently in applicant status, our intent is to pursue CEPH accreditation in the future.

Studying online at Walden University is the perfect way for some students to earn their degree while maintaining their current lifestyle. Walden University has many advanced online degree programs in business, education, and nursing that students will be interested in pursuing. Students will be expected to study for up to twenty hours a week depending on the assignments and how quickly students can feel comfortable with the material. Reading, lectures, online discussions, and video and DVD instruction for some programs are the required methods for teaching classes. Students will also have the opportunity to learn with fellow classmates through group exercises and other projects. The faculty is available to answer questions and concerns at any time during the class.
Walden University Online has an online library, advising center, and a writing center for those who need help organizing their thoughts for research papers and other written communication. The university tries to make the online experience a community based one with access to other students and materials that will be needed in order to successfully pass classes. Students will be learning from those who not only have teaching experience, but who have worked in different areas. For students who are returning to school, an online program will be an easy transition back into student life. In order to be successful, students must be able to complete assignments on time, keep up with their studying, and be able to give intelligent feedback in group discussions and in written assignments.
Learning how to communicate effectively will help in many different areas. The faculty at Walden University online will do their best to help a student learn how to communicate with different people. Group projects are used in order to teach this form of communication so that students will be able to use what they have learned in a business setting.
