The physician assistant is a key player in most health care situations. This field of study is one that is very much in demand with virtually any location needing skilled providers of this service. In short, a physician assistant will be trained to handle specific aspects of health care and will provide specialized yet non invasive procedures to the patient in lieu of the doctor.
The main job of a physician's assistant will be to aid the doctor in assessing and treating a patient. For that reason, these assistants can be found in any work setting that a doctor is found in as each doctor generally has at least one if not more of them. This allows the doctor to see many patients in a short amount of time. The average first-year salary for a physician's assistant is $60,000.
