Forensic Medicine Online Degree Programs

Forensic medicine applies to the study of the body in relation to crime. As one of the most in demand fields of study today, the course requirements are varied. Students will begin learning the specifics of this study through their college choice but courses that are generally included include wound study, head injury, identification study, time of death, alcohol, organ transplantation, asphyxia death, gunshot wounds, coroner study, and the autopsy.

Generally speaking, students that graduate from forensic medicine programs may continue on to get a general forensic degree or they may begin working in the coroner's office. Their job may include helping to solve crime but may also be to help determine death in a patient that happens in other means. Forensic students may work in hospitals or in crime labs, in the field or in an office style of setting. Continuing education may be a requirement as part of the job profile and licensing requirements also exist.
