Capella University Online has one of the most extensive online learning programs that students can enroll in. Online learning is conducted through lectures, message boards, and some times colloquia, which are residencies that some students will have to attend as part of their degree program.
Online learning at Capella begins with an introductory course in online learning. Students will learn how the system works and how to communicate with others. Students can contact each other and their faculty in any manner they wish. Courses have beginning and ending dates. In this time, students are expected to turn in all assignments in order to pass the course. Most courses are three months in length with some that will only last one month. This will depend on the degree program.
The degree programs offered at Capella will help students learn about a new career or help them advance in their current career. Students are expected to study at least 10 hours a week for most degree programs. They are also expected to log into classes 2-5 times a week. This will help students learn and will also help instructors maintain attendance.
