The objective of this secondary education master's degree program is to provide educators with communication and instructional skills that will appeal to adolescents and young adults beginning to form their own opinions about life in general. Focus will be on providing a basic knowledge of adolescent development, followed by a basic understanding of the need to be informed of world events and views. This specialized coursework also focuses on teaching children more advanced textbook skills and providing them with basic information to form personalities and personal interests that will affect their coursework during and after secondary school.

Students can choose to earn a bachelor's degrees or master's degrees in a wide variety of programs at Grand Canyon University Online. Classes are very small and students are required to work together in groups to complete projects and participate in online discussions. Learning in groups will allow people to form trusting relationships with others. Students are expected to log in to their workstations at least four times a week to study, discuss topics with students and instructors, and to work on assignments that will be due at certain times.
While the course work is done online, there is a schedule that will have to be followed. Exams may be given online even though most instructors prefer to use academic papers and projects to determine grades. Courses focus on developing reading, writing, discussion, and research skills to prepare students for success in any field.
Grand Canyon University Online offers people a chance to learn how to be better advance their career without having to leave their current position. Courses are eight weeks long. Two courses can be taken per semester. This gives students the opportunity to focus on a few issues at a time. These are skills that can last a lifetime and give students the courage to take their career to new levels.
