Educational Administration Online Degree Programs

Educational administration is a specialized area of study for professionals who wish to advance their educational career in administration, management and evaluation. Students of educational administration are already teaching or otherwise professionally involved in education. Typical career options and goals for those who wish to study educational administration include principals, vice-principals, academic deans, education consultants, school board chairpersons and central office administrators.

Educational administration is managerial and organizational in nature, and can include such tasks as coordinating public school system activities, curriculum design, creating disciplinary measures and public policy, overseeing extracurricular programs and making connections between faculty, staff, parents and students.

The study of educational administration can involve personnel supervision, administrative theory and leadership, educational research, multiculturalism, curriculum development, public relations and public policy, ethics, finances and overall management.

Most educational administration positions require a type of graduate degree, although some administrators simply advance to a new position after a proven track record in a previous position, such as teacher, professor, admissions counselor, head librarian or recruiter.
