The Thunderbird School of Global Management was originally founded in 1946 with the goal to provide a global perspective on international businesses management. Thunderbird was one of the first higher education programs in the United States to take a completely global perspective on business management. Thunderbird is accredited through several agencies, including the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, and the European Quality Improvement System.
