Humanities Online Degree Programs
Though humanities are actually a part of liberal arts, encompassing subjects including education, English, criminal justice, history, art history, modern languages, political science, psychology, and sociology, the emphasis is on languages, literature, art, music, philosophy, and religion. These are all classified as Humanities, though universities have separate divisions for them.
There are more associate's degrees earned in the Humanities field than in any other field. These degrees prepare students for upper level degrees in writing, literature, speech, interpersonal relations, journalism, communication, music, art, philosophy, or religion, leading to studies in law, medicine, and business, as well as education degrees.
Lower level humanities degrees lead to careers as research assistants, administrative aids, or management positions, while upper level humanities degrees lead to teaching positions in the genres listed above, as well as fine arts, theater, history, and languages careers. Humanities may be a broad-based educational program, but it prepares students for a wide and varied choice of lucrative career options, where earnings are as varied as the career possibilities.
