Online Certificate Degrees

A certificate is much the same as an associate degree. Students sometimes finish a certificate program and then go on for a bachelor's degree. There are certificates similar to the Associate of Arts, which is a generalized curriculum in a particular field of study. However, most certificates are more like the Associate of Science, which trains students for immediate employment in a particular trade.

When students have earned a certificate, they have completed about 12 to 33 college credits.

In many instances, a certificate program can be completed online from home in students' spare time. When earning a degree in this manner, look for an accredited program.
