Steve Tengler at UX Magazine has written another winning article with Five User Experience Lessons from Tom Hanks. These are top-notch usability recommendations that the author illustrates though some of Hanks’ most famous films and television series. This was really a blast from the past for me because I remember watching Bosom Buddies growing up. Here are the lessons discussed:
- Lesson #1: Re-Skinning Can Allow Financially-Advantageous Reuse
- Lesson #2: Fictional Personas Can Bring Sanity to the Project
- Lesson #3: Task Completion Doesn’t Automatically Equate to Success
- Lesson #4: Complicated Interfaces Have Their Purposes, Too
- Lesson #5: Exceeding User Goals Makes You Memorable
