A psychology degree program is designed to teach students about how the human mind works, touching on everything from aberrant behaviors to the inherent ways we see ourselves and the world around us. The study of psychology is often two-pronged, trying both to better understand the human mind through research and study as well as using that knowledge to develop new and effective methods to help those with mental health or behavioral problems. Those focusing on fields like school psychology, clinical psychology, industrial-organizational psychology and counseling will find the greatest number of job opportunities as these fields expand over the coming years.
