The premier programs offered by Redstone are the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Program and the Advanced Electronic Technology Program in Avionics. A&P trainees will learn to ensure that passenger aircraft are safe for flying on a daily basis, repair and maintain jets, inspect aviation components, test all repairs for safety, and troubleshoot aircraft issues. In as little as 18 months, you can be prepared for entry-level work in the airframe and powerplant industry, as well as prepared to get a license in the industry. In Avionics, students learn to use equipment relevant to the aircraft and focus on troubleshooting, as well as an ability to transfer learned skills to non-aircraft systems. In just under 18 months, you'll be prepared to take the FCC certification exam and skilled enough for entry-level positions in the aviation industry.
