The allied healthcare industry is growing by leaps and bounds and through the study of massage therapy, Helma Institute strives to provide a means of entrance into this rapidly expanding industry. As an institute of holistic education, Helma has been striving for excellence in training since the mid 1960s when it was founded by Kitty Leer. The staff provides knowledge and hands-on training in a relaxed but vigorous atmosphere that is both calming and motivating, much as a massage itself should be. The clinic through which students are taught is open to the public, offering students a real life work environment that assists them with a smooth transition from studying to working.

The study of massage therapy prepares students to enter one of the newest proposed fields of therapy by doctors and healthcare specialists, making it a growing part of the applied healthcare industry. Study at the Helma Institute prepares you to ass the National Certification Exam in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCETMB). You'll participate in interesting, hands-on courses like Chair Massage, Pre-natal Massage, Reflexology, Anatomy and Physiology, Hygiene, CPR and First Aid, and more. The program culminates in a 200-hour Student Massage Clinic that allows you to practice in a real-life setting and be evaluated on your skills, customer service, ethics, and cleanliness.

Dedicated to excellence, the instructors at Helma Institute strive to impart every ounce of expertise they have obtained in their extensive background onto students who are looking to enter the field. Careers in massage can be found in many places upon completion of the training program, especially with career placement assistance offered through connections at the school with many potential employers in the industry. You will be qualified (upon passing the NCETMB) to work with chiropractors, physicians, in hospitals, salons, spas, at country clubs, and in a number of other exciting locations. With the training from Helma Institute on your resume, doors will open wide in acceptance from institutions in need of professionals with your skills and qualifications.
