If you are interested in various studies in design that delve into your creativity, the Harrington College of Design has the appropriate program for you. Established in 1931 by Frances Harrington, an interior designer from New York who traveled to the Chicago area for a series of lectures to a group of interior design professionals, the opportunity was later expanded to include the same offering to the public. A diploma program was later offered to day division students, followed by an expanded curriculum to meet the needs of more students in other areas of design.
You can achieve a number of degrees and goals at Harrington College of Design. For example, the Interior Design program can result in either an Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. If you are excited about the idea of working in the field of photography, the college can offer you an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Digital Photography, which gives you access to lbs filled with Mac computers including state-of-the-art processors and software, over 6,000 square feet of studio space, and lots of equipment to choose from. You can even achieve a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Communication Design, which encompasses not only graphic and advertising design but also strategic design and communication skills.
