Since its founding in 1987, the Connecticut Culinary Institute has offered individuals aspiring to enter the ever successful food service industry the opportunity to prepare for a rewarding career. With three professional programs available, CCI incorporates classroom study, hands-on techniques, and professional instructors with field expertise to provide students with the most comprehensive and essential education available. Learn about baking, grilling, sautéing, menu planning, garnishing, sanitation, kitchen etiquette, and even business aspects of the industry.

CCI offers three distinct professional programs aimed at preparing you for a fun and exciting career in the food service industry. The Advanced Culinary Arts Program lasts 60 weeks, with 36 weeks of hands-on classroom and lab instruction, learning about cuisine from around the world, honing basic culinary skills, and learning about all aspects of food service, after which students participate in a 600-hour, 24-week paid externship. Graduates of the Professional Pastry and Baking Program obtain a diploma that opens up opportunities for entry-level careers as restaurant pastry chefs, bakers, private pastry chefs, artisan bread bakers, and more. Students participating in the Advanced Italian Culinary Arts Program will have 36 weeks of classroom and lab instruction similar to the regular culinary arts program, with exception of added emphasis on Italian cuisine, which will culminate in final instruction and an externship in Italy.

No matter what shape the economy is in, people still eat at restaurants, stay at hotels, and order catering services, so there is always a need for individuals with an interest in food service. At the Connecticut Culinary Institute, the goal is to provide the best education so that graduates are able to aptly fill entry-level positions in these fields of interest and advance within the industry. If you are interested in a career that never goes out of style, the Connecticut Culinary Institute can help you plan your future.
