The Colorado School of Trades provides a unique environment in which students can learn a real hands-on trade and take part in some lost arts that are still high in demand. Whether you are interested in gunsmithing or horseshoeing (becoming a farrier), the Colorado School of Trades can settle you into a program that will help you achieve your goal.

The Colorado School of Trades has a well-equipped farrier shop where all horseshoeing education occurs. All students have outdoor, hands-on training and experience that leads to success as a farrier. You'll train with actual horses, becoming familiar with the necessary tools such as an anvil, forge, and hammer to create custom shoes. The school is in-depth to the point of learning specialized skills that include designing therapeutic shoes to help prevent or reduce pain caused by previously worn shoes that were incorrect or put on will improper techniques. In the school of gunsmithing, in operation since 1947, you'll learn about gun repair, assembly, and customization. You'll also learn about the operation of lathes and mills, as well as techniques for cleaning and finishing firearms. In just over a year, you can have an exciting career in gunsmithing.

Both horseshoeing and gunsmithing are trades for which there will always be a need, and the Colorado School of Trades strives to turn out the best tradesmen in the industries.
