As the only ABA-approved and Accredited college in Texas to specialize in the education of Paralegals, the Center of Advanced Legal Studies opened its doors in 1987 and has been focusing solely on the paralegal profession ever since, becoming an expert in the education, training, and preparation of students. These students in turn can enter the job market with the essential skills to immediately attract and please employers. With separate programs to meet the needs of individuals looking to join the legal profession as well as adult professionals already in the field, the center has something to offer everyone.
At the Center of Advanced Legal Studies, the concentration is on training as a paralegal. The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paralegal Studies program prepares students for entry-level positions in legal libraries, law offices, and other locations where they can assist lawyers, attorneys, government officials, and other legal assistants with research, legal documentation, and other duties. The Certificate program is arranged for individuals already possessing a Bachelor's Degree and offers a higher level of education in the legal arts, bringing graduates to a degree of knowledge that allows them greater position and reliability in functions related to research and assistance for legal professionals.
Both programs at the Center of Advanced Legal Studies offer traditional on campus studies, as well as part-time online study options to fit more conveniently into a busy lifestyle. Located in Houston, the largest city in Texas, you'll find much to do socially as well, with the Gulf Coast minutes away. The financial aid staff can assist you in looking at and applying for various forms off aid, making schooling possible for everyone.
