The goal of the California Lutheran University is to train students to be open-minded, free thinkers who are prepared for lifelong habits of independent learning throughout the future and the 21st century. The Core-21 program is designed to create responsible citizens of the world with the abilities to change society. Choose to earn a bachelor's degree in many varied fields, and you'll receive in-depth training for both the technical skills and life skills to succeed in your chosen path.

At California Lutheran University, you'll find three distinct schools — the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Business, and the School of Education. Opportunities in various majors and minors are available for students aspiring for an undergraduate degree, including such fields as geology, art, philosophy, music, sociology, and more. Cal Lutheran also offers a wide variety of graduate programs culminating in master's degrees, some doctoral degrees, and the opportunity for post-MBA certificate courses. While there are graduate programs offered at the main Thousand Oaks campus, there are also two dedicated graduate centers, located in nearby Oxnard and Woodland Hills.

Founded in 1959, California Lutheran University is still holding to the 500-year-old tradition of Lutheran higher education, guiding students the ability to ask questions and find their own answers while still providing the essentials for a happy, successful future in any one of a number of professions.
