The American Career College, originally founded as the American College of Optics in 1978, has been operating under its current name since 1993, with an expanded curriculum geared towards a growing number of students. The college's goal is to provide attendees with the essential skills and knowledge to be successful in finding good entry level healthcare positions in their chosen field of study. In fact, the American Career College even offers placement assistance for graduates.

The college provides study options that can assist in finding employment in various areas of dentistry through the Dental Assisting program. Geared at qualifying students to work as entry level dental assistants, graduates will also find opportunities in oral surgery, front office, insurance, billing, clinical internships, and even dental suppliers. Other career paths can be chosen by students as well at the American Career College, leading students to promising careers as health claims examiners and medical billers, a range of specialized massage therapist professionals, trained medical assistants, optical dispensing specialists, pharmacy technicians, surgical technologists, diagnostic medical sonographers, computerized business specialist, and vocational nurses.

Career-based programs mean shortened study periods and focus on the knowledge required for your desired career choice. There is opportunity for hands-on learning and interactive classroom activities, breeding confidence in the student population. With campuses in three different California locations (LA, Orange County/Anaheim, and Norco), you can find a convenient campus near you.

For some programs, you do not even need a high school diploma or GED, making ACC a reasonable choice for extreme circumstances, as well. While the American Career College is not a traditional 2- or 4-year college, it is fully accredited, and you will receive a certificate upon completion of your studies that will add immeasurable value to your skills in the eyes of your prospective employers.
