Top Ten Facebook Apps for Librarians – Part Two

MyFlickr – Members who install this widget in their Facebook profile will be able to specify which of their Flickr photos to stream in by choosing from criteria such as: by tag, date range, privacy, and sets. Choose from several photo layout configurations and display options. More than 22,000 Flickr enthusiasts have added this application. Other options: Picnik, (206,859 users), Slideshows, (1,429,121 users), Slide Shows, (172,528 users).
Slideshare – Display all of your slide decks and PowerPoint presentations right inside your Facebook profile with the Slideshare application. Upload presentations up to 30MB in size from within your dashboard to display, browse the latest slideshows, or import your favorites from Slideshare.
UIUC Library catalog – Search the library catalog of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign or request live assistance from a librarian. Nearly 300 people have added this powerful search widget to their profiles which also accesses the library’s journal article databases. Other options – University of Michigan library catalog, (259 users), Ryerson University Library catalog, (198 users), Hennepin County Library catalog, (101 users).
