<description>We ran two Facebook Flyers in April at Muskingum College to promote extended hours during finals week and to remind students to return library materials. Both flyers linked back to blog posts so we could track click-throughs. I would say it was mildly successful. We didn&#039;t get a lot of hits to the blog posts. A couple of people mentioned seeing the flyers. I view it as a very inexpensive experiment and we will probably do it again in December.

I have screen captures of both flyers on Flickr.

<description>We have been using them at Carnegie Mellon for over a year now. This method of advertising succeeds for the exact reason you stated-the information is placed where the students already look. Our use has been mainly to announce upcoming events and lectures, but further applications may arise.
